Fantasy AnalysisMaxwell's bombastic style can lead to peaks and valleys of form, though he seems to be back in the ascendancy. While he's yet to record a half-century, he's still mustered 193 runs at a strike rate of 182.07 and an average of 38.60 through his first seven innings—this despite a stretch that saw him score just 10 runs across two matches. He'll look to continue his strong form in Friday's visit from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Fantasy AnalysisAfter a relatively slow start in the wicket-taking department, Chahal has stepped it up a notch of late. After taking three-for against Gujarat, he followed that up with three more against KKR at an impressive economy of 4.00. Despite his phenomenal bowling performance, it was overshadowed by the disappointing performance with the bat his squad showed, scoring just 49 runs all out in fewer than 10 overs, which saw Chahal beaten for a silver duck to unceremoniously end RCB's innings with the lowest-ever IPL score. After having Tuesday's match washed out, he'll look to maintain his strong form with the ball in Thursday's match against the Gujarat Lions.
Fantasy AnalysisAfter opening his Test account with the scalp of Kraigg Brathwaite for a duck, he took a pair in the 44th over of the second innings to start to drive the nails into the West Indies' coffin, ending the mornings of Devendra Bishoo and Shane Dowrich in a three-ball span. He'll look to build off his debut in the final two Tests of the series, starting Sunday at Bridgetown.
Fantasy AnalysisThe 25-year-old wicketkeeper batsman had been in relatively poor form coming into the series, totaling 13 runs across his last two first-class matches for Barbados. However, after a first innings half-century, Dowrich just needed to hold the fort in the second innings to at least force a draw. Despite just needing to hold on, Dowrich badly misplayed the second delivery he saw and was beaten for a lbw. This was his second duck in Test cricket, his other also coming against Pakistan but six months ago in Dubai. He'll look to find his form in the second Test at Bridgetown.
Fantasy AnalysisThe outstanding Test bowler was mostly held in check in the first innings, taking figures of two for 91, but found another gear in the second innings, taking the first four wickets to put the Windies behind the eight ball and then turning loose in the 53rd over to knock out the final two batsmen to give Pakistan just 32 runs on the chase. In just 24 Test matches, this was Shah's ninth five-wicket bag. Just days shy of his 31st birthday, Shah will look to maintain his tremendous form in the second Test of the series at Bridgetown.
Fantasy AnalysisBarely more than a month shy of his 43rd birthday, Misbah-ul-Haq continues to show his class in the crease. Tantalizingly short of his 11th Test century, he did reach another milestone, recording his 5,000th Test run in the same Test as Younis Khan reached 10,000 no less. Thanks to his work in the crease and some excellent bowling by Yasir Shah in the final session of the day, even with a number of washed-out sessions, Pakistan still has a chance to secure victory.
